Celebrities Need Poker For Enhanced Narcissism
Poker players have become celebrities. Celebrities are flocking to poker. Let’s look at a few of the celebrities that have had some success at the tables.
A few years ago Jennifer Tilly started showing up at poker tournaments. Her boy friend Phil Laak, a top pro, obviously had been teaching her the game. When she won the WSOP ladies only event in 2005, the poker world had to take notice.
Rock star Sully Erna (Godsmack) has been playing as much as the pros lately. He can’t get enough of the game. He has admitted to changing the bands tour schedule, so he could play in the WSOP. He has cashed in the last two main events at the WSOP.
James Woods has been showing up at poker tournaments for years. He is a regular at the Hollywood home games. He also is involved in online poker, owning a poker room.
Ben Affleck has played in cash games for years. In 2004 though, he showed up at the 10,000 buy in main event at the California State Poker Championships. He took out the entire field and won the event.
Chad Brown doesn’t have the celebrity status that the others on this list do. To say he is a celebrity who play poker is backwards. He is a poker pro who was an actor. He definitely is the best tournament player on this list.
With career earnings of over 2 million dollars, he has had many good runs in big events. He almost captured a WSOP bracelet with a second place finish in event 54 of the 2007 WSOP. His strong record is only tainted by not having a big win.
Gabe Kaplan could be called the grandfather of celebrities who play poker. He goes way back to when poker wasn’t the popular game it is now. He was on of the first television commentators for poker.
He has been going to Las Vegas for the WSOP since 1978. Over the years he has managed to reach six final tables. This has been over a nineteen year span.
Gabe can still be found doing commentary for poker shows. He is close to the game, is a good player in his own right, and has a quick comedic mind. This makes for a quality voice for poker.
I’m sure we’ve left some celebrities off this list that should be here. As poker has grown in recent years, many new celebrities are getting into the action. The WSOP has more celebrities than are courtside at the Lakers games. They all want to take a shot at the big one.

In holdem you should almost always bet and not let your opponent see any cards without paying. When you hit your hand on the flop, bet it. Don’t check, and let them see the next card for free. Many times that free card will help your opponent and lead to a big loss for you. Bonus deposit codes
